Part European-style children’s boutique, part restaurant and part fantasy land, Mon Petit Chateau presents a captivating entertainment alternative in Chula Vista for young and old.
The 6,000-square-foot indoor themed play park for toddlers with amenities for their parents is located at 861 Harold Place, Suite 204.
Owned and operated by Angelica and Mark McDonald, Mon Petite Chateau is the embodiment of Angelica’s passion for children in general and special-needs children in particular.
It was Angelica’s dream to create a place where children and their caregivers could come and be welcomed and accepted while playing, learning and living out their fantasies.
Mark said the idea behind creating their fantasyland “retreat” for kids and adults came from a desire to offer something different and more than your typical indoor kids play area with slides and balls.
“We’re not your stereotypical jungle gym,” said Mark, noting Angelica always wanted to have a little school, a little boutique.
“So we put it all together in one place,” he said, adding the Chateau offers classes and open play on weekdays while hosting customized private birthday parties on weekends.
Mon Petite Chateau features a parent café and bistro offering some of San Diego’s finest lattes, cappuccinos and pastries.
The children’s boutique has exceptional quality clothing, toys and everything for babies and toddlers.
Child enrichment classes focus on dance, language and art. There are also development classes for autistic children.
Mark said the couple is proud of having won San Diego Family Magazine’s Best of Family Entertainment award.
Most of all, the McDonalds are proud of the ambience they’ve created at their place of business.
“Parents come and relax in a parklike setting while their kids can dress up in costumes and be entertained with creative and imaginative things,” said Mark, adding “Everything in here is dialed in for quality.”
“I started this business because I have always wanted to own a small French-style school and a little boutique,” said Angelica on their website, adding that her thought was to “combine a magical place where parents and children could come together and relax and play and learn together.”
“We cater to those parents who want quality and enjoyment in the play, development and entertainment of their children,” said Mark, promising the Chateau experience is an unforgettable one and a place where “guests have as much fun as the children.”
