A recent study presented to the city of Chula Vista revealed that individuals who live in other parts of the county had a poor perception of Chula Vista.  Recently I had lunch with Eastlake residents Gerald and Sara Ramirez. The Ramirez family has lived in Eastlake for more than 10 years and raves about the climate, great amenities and the variety of things to do, such as cycling. Gerald, who is a financial advisor and vice president in the wealth management division of Morgan Stanley, enjoys bringing his clients to Chula Vista and dispelling any misperceptions of this special community he calls home.
Gerald and Sara are more than residents, they are community participants who play a critical role in increasing the quality of life through their involvement with a number of local organizations.  Both are founding members of the Chula Vista Charitable Foundation, Gerald is a member of the Chula Vista Rotary and Sara is a member of the dynamic Eastlake Mom’s group that boasts hundreds of members.
“Knowing how well off I am makes me want to help others. I am very grateful for everything I have, and I know that a simple act of kindness and a helping hand can make a huge difference to someone else,” said Sara.
In all their community involvement and service, their biggest passion remains their three children Daniel, age 3, Ian, age 6 and Samarah, age 7. They are purposely creating a legacy of giving back for their children and involve them in projects when possible.
The Ramirez family is an example of many families that make Chula Vista a wonderful community to live and give!
